Three From Kensuke Sasaki and Yoshihiro Takayama

Yoshihiro Takayama and Kensuke Sasaki wrestled three very different singles matches against each other, all of which rocked.

So here’s the thing: I went looking for the promised 2004 G1 Climax match between Yoshihiro Takayama and Kensuke Sasaki and found a 1995 UWFI match between the two of them that I have absolutely no memory of, then I found their 2002 G1 Climax match on the Internet Archive, so this one’s a three-for-one deal because how am I not gonna watch that, right? UWFI’s one of those promotions that I love a lot, but that I haven’t really revisited since I got sober nine years ago, so my memory of it is incredibly fuzzy. I imagine it’ll have as much bearing upon the G1 Climax match as it did the NJPW/UWFI feud given their relative standing in 1995, so it should be fun! We love fun here at BIG EGG!

Note: If you read yesterday's MASTERLIST post, you may have noticed that I talked about switching things up with bonus content, going forward. This essay, along with the one about Terry Funk in Puerto Rico and Cactus Jack vs. Vader on WCW TV, are pretty close to what I'm aiming for, though I'm still working out the kinks. This is a catch-up from December's 31-in-31 thing, which turned out to be wrong both in the sense that by the time I finish it'll be long past 31 days and far more than 31 matches. I'm workin' on it! Thanks for hanging!
