Hercules Ayala Stomps Randy Savage in Ponce

I don’t know if it’s possible to underrate “Macho Man” Randy Savage, but for the sake of opening this essay, I will say that I think that a lot of his greatness is taken for granted. He was a major figure of two of wrestling’s boom eras, the top rival and ally of its biggest ever star, arguably the greatest to ever do it, but after watching a 1998 Hogan/Savage match a few weeks ago and witnessing an entirely different match than the most, I’ve come to believe that a lot of people who know his resume have neglected to study the footage. There’s the big, obvious stuff, but you have to be something of a sicko to delve into his pre-WrestleMania III work.
