Christopher Daniels Struts His Stuff Against El Generico
2011 ROH sounds like a really rough time for fans of Good Wrestling, ngl.

To drill down a little deeper into one of the themes of my essay about the Unbreakable three way and the conversation Joseph and I had about it, I think one of the reasons I’m ambivalent about Christopher Daniels — a lot of wrestlers, really — is because I am deeply distrustful of Widely Held Opinions about professional wrestling and don’t like being told, as if I am too stupid to reach my own conclusions, that a wrestler or wrestling match or promo or show or whatever is beyond dissent. I’m much older and wiser now than I was back then, I take my role as a wrestling critic more seriously than I let on and try not to take antagonistic stances for the sake of being an antagonist, but in the back of my head there’s always an impulse to look at the wildly acclaimed (and widely ridiculed!) from as many angles as possible.
